The first state-level industrial demonstration base based on new-type industrialization in Tibet is established

Recently, Lhasa Economic & Technology Development Area was identified as state-level industrial demonstration base based on new-type industrialization by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, which had important significance in promoting Tibet's industrial upgrade and quickening the development of Lhasa Economic & Technology Development Area.

According to Huang Yutian, director of the Administrative Commission of Lhasa Economic & Technology Development Area, it is of great significance to optimize the allocation of resources, to improve the level of technical equipments, to give a full display to the accumulative effect and the diffusive effect of the industries.

At present, Lhasa Economic & Technology Development Area is progressing fairly. In the first half of this year, the Development Area ushered in 75 newly registered enterprises and 760 million yuan RMB newly registered fund, with an accumulated total tax revenue reaching 660 million yuan RMB, up by 94 percent over the same period last year. Giant enterprises, such as China Petroleum Qing Hai Branch, Tibet Plateau Natural Water Co.Ltd., Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group, have invested and built plants here. Lhasa Economic & Technology Development Area will present a more swift development situation in the future.

Huang Yutian said,"This is a fresh start for us. We will focus on trade and investment promotion, quicken the pace of infrustructure construction and strategic adjustment of the economic structure, enhance the comprehensive capacities of industry, raise the proportion of industry in the national economy as a whole, and make a great contribution to the great-leap-forward development of Tibet's economy."
