Deputy Consul-General Bi Gang attended the 5th North America Chinese Startup and Talent Summit

On Jan 10th 2015, the Fifth North America Chinese Startup and Talent Summit was held in Santa Clara Convention Center. Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in San Francisco Bi Gang attended the summit and delivered a speech, about 3000 talents, entrepreneurs, Venture Capitals in the Bay Area and representatives from Chinese hi-tech parks including Suzhou, Nanjing, Zhangjiang, Jiading, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Taiyuan, Weifang and Zhongguancun attended this summit.

 

Jointly organized by US-China Association of High-level Professional, Tsinghua entrepreneur and executive club, Peking University entrepreneur and executive club, Silicon Valley China Angel, the summit expands year by year after five years of development. More than 500 projects and teams joined the summit, many participants coming from major cities and development zones of China. The summit has become one of the mainstream of the interactive platform which bridging the talent, capital and market between China and US.

 

While extending sincere congratulations to the forum and praised its series of outstanding achievements in the past five years, Deputy Consul General Bi emphasized that China could not fulfill economic transformation without the support of science and technology. The key to economic transformation is S&T progress, which relies heavily on innovation, while talents are critical to innovation-driven development. China always attaches great importance to overseas high-tech talents,and has been implementing the Recruitment Program of Global Experts and the Thousand Foreign Talents program in recent years. China encourages and supports overseas high-tech talents to start business and innovation in China, get them involved in China's development, share the fruits of China's rapid growth and turn their dreams into reality. Deputy Consul General Bi appreciated the Summit for it's contributions toward China-U.S. science and technological exchange and cooperation, and looked forward to joining hands together with all parties to create a shared future.
