Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with Press Delegation from Ethiopia

On June 23, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met with a visiting press delegation from Ethiopia. Zhai welcomed the visit by the delegation and made positive comments on bilateral friendly cooperative relations. He introduced China-Africa relations and China's Africa policy and briefed the delegation on the achievements China has made since the reform and opening up three decades ago and the problems it faces. He also briefed on the preparations for the Beijing Olympic Games and China's quake relief efforts. He expressed hope that the delegation members will visit more places of China and make contributions to building understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

The head of the delegation noted that the journalists are pleased to have such an opportunity to visit China and hope to exchange with and learn from their Chinese colleagues. He said that the delegation members will introduce to the Ethiopian people what they have seen and heard in China after returning home to help them learn more about the country and promote the development of bilateral friendly relations.
