On June 13, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei met with Thai Ambassador to China Rathakit Manathat. Manathat conveyed a donation of 500,000 U.S. dollars made by the Thai government and a donation of 255.200 RMB yuan made by the Thais in China to the Chinese side, expressing hope that the donations will help the people in the quake-hit areas to rebuild homeland.

He expressed gratitude on behalf of the Chinese government.
