On the afternoon of April 28, 2008, Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo met with visiting DPRK Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun in Zhongnanhai. Both sides made positive comments on bilateral ties, agreeing to keep closer exchanges at all levels, deepen pragmatic cooperation and friendly exchanges in all areas and strengthen coordination and cooperation on multilateral affairs.

Dai appreciated the DPRK for its firm support of China on the Taiwan and Tibet questions. He also expressed gratitude for DPRK's support of the Beijing Olympics and the smooth Olympic torch relay in Pyongyang.

Pak said the DPRK adhered to the one-China policy, supported China on the Tibet and Taiwan questions and opposed the linking of Olympics with politics. He also wished the Beijing Olympic Games a success.
